Lost’s Sixth and Final Season Will Answer all Questions

The Lost television series has some scratching their heads wondering what will come next. Some of the answers can be found right now if you know where to look.

The rules of the island are talked about often, and so is the law. In the season five episode that reveals Jacob talking to an unknown man, the unknown man tells Jacob he wants to kill him. All he needs is a loophole which is supposedly a loophole in the rules.

When Richard Alpert visits a young John Locke, he presents him with items to choose from. One of those items is the book of law. Mr. Eko describes a story to John Locke at length in season two concerning the same book. When he is done he presents John with a book of law which may have been the one John views as a child in foster care. Eko explains that the book of law is also known as the Old Testament. The Old Testament has laws, or rather commandments. In total there are ten of them.

Further evidence comes from the smoke monster, also known as Cerberus, which seems to judge people for their actions on the island. Cerberus is a well known figure in Christian mythology and biblical stories. Both Christian and Egyptian mythologies, which are intertwined through history, are found in abundance all over the island.

The Big Time Loop

The first indication we get that everything on the island may have happened many times before in some sort of time loop comes in season three when Desmond is having his time jump episodes and carries memories back and forth. After he starts to break down he seeks out a professor friend of his and goes out for a drink to explain his problems.

When that professor is first seen he is talking to a student about chaos. He explains to the student that the same parameters and circumstances done over and over will invariably give a different outcome each time. This may be foreshadowing the fact that the island resets in some way or is controlled through a series of predictable events and a time machine.

Another big clue comes from Hawking in season five when she explains that for the first time in a long time she doesn’t know what’s going to happen. This may mean she has run out of info due to going past the point of Daniel’s death or that the time loop has been averted and this manifestation of the time loop is off the rails and open to chaos.
